Following annual tradition FinArch invites its customers and partners to a global gathering. We are pleased to offer a varied programme, with shared industry expertise, multiple customer testimonials, and a "closed doors" users' meeting.

Nick Leeson, infamous for his role in the collapse of Barings Bank in 1995, will share his insight and give a frank account of his actions that led to the downfall of the banking empire. In light of recent events at SocGen, he will tackle the question of how similar financial debacles as the collapse of Barings Bank continue to happen and what safegauards are needed to avoid them.

Customer testimonials a.o. will be brought by

  • Vasant Dattani, Director at Bache Commodities Limited will share his experiences with us about Basel II and commodity trading. Bache is currently implementing Finarch's sophisticated calculation engine and the complete regulatory reporting solution;
  • Antonio C. Moncupa Jr., President and CEO of EastWestBank in the Philippines, will talk about the implementation of Financial Studio for its Financial Transformation Program (FTP). FTP has started with the implementation of a sub-ledger that provides greater granularity in MIS and profitability reporting

FinArch has negotiated preferential rates for your stay at the Radisson SAS Daugava (www.riga.radissonsas.com) in Riga which are valid for registration prior to August 1. Thes rates maintain if you wish to stay at the hotel the weekend of Sept 26 to 28. If you like us to arrange for your hotel accommodation at the Radisson SAS Daugava hotel, please indicate your room preference (rates per room per night, inclusive of breakfast, VAT, car parking, free access to fitness center, sauna and pool). Please note that cancellation charges will apply in case of cancellation after 10 September 2008, or in case of no show on the day of arrival; the full amount of the accommodation confirmed will be charged to the credit card guaranteeing this reservation.

Participation to FACtS 2008 and to all activities is free ; travel and accommodation are not included. All room reservations must be guaranteed, for which we require your credit card details, which will be treated confidentially and use solely for this purpose. Credit cards will not be charged a deposit. Upon receipt of your registration form, FinArch will send you an acknowledgement of your reservation, which will be accompagnied by a separate form for your credit details to confirm your booking. If you do no receive your acknowledgement within 7 working days, or have questions regarding your reservation, please contact us directly.
